Crusoe Hotel, Lower Largo, Fife - named after Robinson Crusoe, this small hotel is seriously idyllic. Our rooms overlooked the beach and at high tide, the waves crashed off the wall beneath our windows. Lovely walks and handy for golf. Comfortable king sized bed in a well furnished room, basic tea & coffee facilities, clean shower room (shower worked poorly in one room) - and absolutely superb cuisine. Highly recommend the smoked haddock at breakfast - divine is too weak a description! Lovely breakfast menu, delicious lunches and well presented dinners. The one HUGE minus is the service, which is as poor as we've ever received anywhere. From getting breakfast orders wrong, to 'couldn't care less' waitresses at dinner to being seriously overcharged for items not ordered (a distinct lack of care when assigning to room number) this one aspect let down what is potentially a top hotel. We're going back in June to see if there is any improvement in service. |
